The Rhode Island 6 Hour Ultramarathon and Relay is currently Rhode Island’s only Ultra. This event is a 6 hour timed race, plain and simple the individual and team that completes the most miles within 6 Hours wins the event.

Course: The course for the Rhode Island 6 Hour Ultramarathon and Relay is a rolling 2.7 mile loop through scenic wooded sections of Warwick City Park in Warwick, RI. The course is certified by USATF certifier Ray Nelson and has certified Marathon, 50k, & 50 mile marks.  Note: There will not be official time at this points, they are there for your information only)

Ultramarathon Information

Time limit 6 hours. Runners complete as many loops as they can within the 6 hour limit.   Most miles accumulated wins! (There will not be partial loops this year, only COMPLETE LOOPS will score.)

Registration is Closed!

There is NO Day of Registration   Race will be capped at 100 Runners

Packet Pickup: Starting at 7:00 AM on race day

Shirts: Short Sleeve Technical Shirts, NEW this year, gender specific sizing (shirts will only be guaranteed to those signed up by 10/1/14)

Ultra Aid Station: Fully stocked with drinks and food

Awards: 1st, 2nd, & 3rd Male & Female Overall

“Finisher Award”:  Pint Glasses to anyone that finishes more than the marathon distance (10 Loops)

Course Record Bonus: $75 (Male/Female)

Male Record: Ben Nephew – 51.323 miles in 5:58:41 (2009)

Female Record: Michelle Gosselin – 45.917 miles in 5:55:06 (2011)

Relay Information

If you’re not up to running the ultra-distance alone, you can gather up your friends, family, co-workers or teammates and form a team to compete against other teams in a relay race. The team with the most accumulated miles wins.

Relay runners complete as many loops as they can within the 6 hour limit. A team can have between 2 and 6 runners. Each team member will run as many loops as they wish before handing off to the next runner. Relay exchange area will be located at the Start/Finish area. (only one runner allowed on course at a time) (partial laps do not score) The team with the most accumulated miles wins!
